More info

In the legendary Lost Eden soundtrack, Stéphane Picq caught echos of ancient times. When earth was a lost paradise, tribals electronic climates were flown by dysphonic vocals and ethereal crystal voice. For when humans and dinosaurs lived together, samples sang the way of the world.

This CD includes a CD-ROM track for MAC & PC featuring a multimedia app with a track-by-track making of the album, a video of Stéphane Picq introducing us to his world and his music, and many illustrations and artworks from the game, by Jean-Jacques Chaubin.

Hauntingly beautiful, soothingly atmospheric score

Hauntingly beautiful, soothingly atmospheric trip hop/ambient techno score to the classic game 'Lost Eden', partly rerecorded and augmented for this CD release.

The synthetic rhythms and melodies have real depth and resonance. They are organically complemented by environmental 'musique concrète', as well as recorded and sampled, pitch-shifted voices - of the wordless 'vocalise' kind, flutes, strings and makeshift horns. Stéphane Picq himself does a great deal of the playing and singing.

Combined with operatic vocals, ethnic harmonic and throat singing, it gives the soundtrack a diverse world music feel, reminiscent of the crossover work of Ofra Haza, Natacha Atlas and Enigma.
